We loved the Masai Mara and its abundance of game. James did an excellent job of getting us to the action. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Masai village and now have a whole new appreciation for the Masai culture. Ol Moran was perfectly located between two large aspects of the Mara and we spent a whole day on each side. The birds and the game in Lake Nakuru were all we could have hoped for and James was magnificent at spotting them. Not only did we see the pink flamingos that we had gone there for, but we also saw the white rhino and a leopard feeding. All in all it was an excellently planned vacation.
Our safari was 14 days but we did the first 7 days in Kenya to Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli and we did upgraded camping since we did not sleep on the floor on a matress. all our accomodations had flush toilet and hot water so that was really great because we never used our sleeping bags!! Food was good and we saw many lions, animals and birds but Lake Nakuru had very few flamingos. Boniface was our guide and I would recommend him to anyone who wants a good sight of leopard in the trees :)
We were 2 American ladies on Safari in Kenya, James Gitonga was our guide and we can highly recommend him to you. He was protective of us in all settings, whether in camp, the Mara River, or a visit to a Masai village. He accommodated all our needs for bathroom breaks and visits to curio shops. On our drives between camps, James was efficient at getting us to our destinations on time. On game drives, James was a superb spotter, he would find rhinos, leopards, lions and giraffes along with many less commonly seen species. He was patient while we snappen photos and willing to get us clost as the rules would allow us. Having James as our guide made our Kenya safari an amazing, wonderful and positive experience
